Scoutmaster's Minute:

"There are always two choices. Two paths to take. One is easy and its only reward is that it's easy." - Author unknown

The author of that quote doesn't say what the other choice is but I believe it is "right." Think about that choice, right or easy. The two are rarely the same. The easy way is rarely the right way and right is rarely easy. You have to make a choice in every action you take. There is a price to pay for every choice you make. The question is, "Are you going to pay the bill for your actions or stick someone else with the check?"

You are responsible for cleaning up after a patrol meal. Your choices are to do it right and clean everything properly before you put it away or you put everything away with as little effort as possible. Right or Easy. If you do it right, you pay the bill. If you put things away dirty, you stick someone else with the check. The work still has to be done.

The problem with sticking someone else with the check is that if you don't pay the bill when it's due, there is usually interest to pay. Michael, you cleaned the Snow Leopard's stove Sunday. Was that easy? Would it have been easier to clean before the mess was baked on? You got stuck with the check and had to pay interest.

It's easier to watch TV or play video games than it is to do your homework or study, right? What bill do you have to pay? You're stuck with the check either way.

Easy is only easy at the point in time you make the choice to follow that path. Always choose the right path. When you come full circle, the price you pay for your choices will be much lower.

The troop website received a significant software upgrade in the month of March that brought a number of new features and enhanced existing features.

Please note: The troop calendar now supports "iCal", allowing you to link your personal calendars such as Outlook, Google, Yahoo or Apple iCloud calendars directly to the troop site.   More information can be found on the bottom of the Calendar page.  We've also restructured some pages to improve the look and function.  Please note that the "Login" button is located in the top right of every screen.  After loging in, you can check your personal profile by clicking on your name in the top right of the screen.   Maintaining your personal profile is important as the troop uses your website email address for communication.    If you have suggestions about things we can improve, please see the troop Webmaster - Michael or his Adviser - Mr. Telenko
