Rules for camping with Troop 5:
- Troop 5 camps 2-nights per months (Depart from church parking lot at 4pm on Friday – All day Saturday – return to Lowes parking lot at 3pm on Sunday)
- If you sign up, please go! This goes for ADULTS and SCOUTS!
- Your food and fees are already budgeted for you to attend; this can lead to making excess food, or at minimum bringing more food than is needed for the weekend.
- Food allergies need to be stated UP-FRONT, in the planning stage if necessary, and also listed on the annual medical form you submit to the troop. The Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster need to be aware of any food allergies.
- Food preferences should be stated when the meals are being planned
- ie…”no spicey stuff”, “I don’t like …”, “I am a vegetarian”, “I don’t eat ham” – but remember – no one will starve in three days!
- Recurring medication, as in take it every day, is the responsibility of the Scout.
- If you take daily medication, bring it in the ORIGINAL packaging in a large zip-lock bag
- Inform the Scoutmaster that you have it
- If the medication is an Epipen for a BEE allergy
i. Keep it with you at all times.
ii. Notify the Adults on the campout
iii. Notify your Patrol Leader that you have the allergy, and the medication
- Items NOT permitted on campouts are, but not limited to:
- Fireworks…PERIOD!
- Firearms
- Campfire enhancement accessories
i. Chemicals etc… with permission of the Scoutmaster ONLY!
- Lighter or matches unless Scout possesses a Firemen Chit
- Large knives
i. pocket knife is permissible and encouraged once Scout received his Tote-N-Chit
ii. Sheath knives are not permitted
- Electronics (can be left in the car for the weekend and used while in transit to and from the camping location – with permission of the driver)
i. Televisions
ii. Hand-held gaming / game systems
iii. AM/FM Radio
iv. MP3 player (includes iPod and all variations)
v. CD Player
vi. Cell phone (can be brought and locked in a car or left with the Scoutmaster or ASM)
- Sporting equipment
i. Footballs
ii. Lawn Darts
- Items that ARE permitted on campouts are, but not limited to:
- Electronics

ii. Video Camera

- Other

ii. Deck of Cards

Should be with you when ever you are in uniform
vi. All necessary camping gear
Check weather for necessary clothing for the campout

- Scout Handbook
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping pad
- Tent
- Backpack
- Clothing
- Flashlight w/extra batteries
- Food (only if necessary, ask the Scoutmaster or ASM if you have questions about this)
- Additional items to bring camping include:
- Compass
- Headlamp
- Pocket knife (if you have and are carrying your Totin' Chip)
- Lighter or matches (if you have and are carrying your Fireman Chit)
- Rope
